about

This is an absolutely fabulous little song by Larry "Wild Man" Fischer that I have been wanting to cover since the first time I heard it. I first discovered this song where it appears, along with a smattering of other selections off "An Evening with Wild Man Fischer" as the side-B of a cassette tape I found in my Dad's collection. Fischer was a legally insane homeless person who used to wander around Los Angeles in the sixties singing original songs for anyone who was willing to listen. Frank Zappa, the only man on the planet brilliant enough to have such an idea, decided that he would be the perfect artist for his new record label. Sadly, to my knowledge, the album has never been released on CD or mp3, and vinyl copies are extremely hard to find. From what I've been able to gather, the Zappa Family Trust currently holds the rights to the recording, and for whatever reason has chosen not to release it. However, you can hear most of the selections from it on YouTube and other sources if you look around for them. Highly recommend.
