LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BEHOLD THE ALL-NEW ALBUM FROM STYOP QUOONS.
This is mostly an electronic album. Please note that no pre-constructed loops were used in its creation. Rather, it is constructed of a series of midi blips which were entered into a computer maually and THEN looped, copied, pasted, or otherwise modified. There are some instances of guitar use here as well.
This surprisingly cumbersome project has taken the better part of the year 2012 to complete. It started out as my FAWM project for the year (8 out of 14 and 1/2 songs completed) and grew into…this.
So here is the premise:
Imagine that you are walking through a green field, not far from where you live. If you happen to live nowhere near a green field, then imagine that you have recently phoned up one of your friends who does and gone to visit them, exclusively for the purpose of walking through this field. The sky is blue and the day is warm and pleasant. As you are walking, you come upon a small cottage. You notice the smell of warm soup wafting out through an open window. It is at this point you realize that you are quite hungry.
You knock on the door. A small voice beckons you to enter. You open the door, and step across the threshold into a small green room, the only furnishings a wooden table, and on that table sits a bowl of delicious-smelling soup. You glance around, but can see no one else in the room with you.
"Sit down." the small voice instructs you. You oblige.
As you reach for the spoon, you notice, much to your surprise, that floating in the bowl is a tiny sheep, who sits on a tiny wooden chair, and is knitting a tiny woolen sweater.
Before you can even verbalize the shock you feel, the sheep gives you a wan smile, and begins to speak again. Over the course of the next hour, it proceeds to tell you a strange tale...
